fall swing

I usually have the November glums right about now... dark to early.. not a lot to do outside due
to cold weather and NO snow... but.. thanks to this nice weather this first part of November has been pretty good. Working in the yard, bike rides, and the swing of course. I guess we are just trying to soak up the golden sun rays before the November glums set in, they are coming I know sad but true. I guess the good side to it is the glums leave and the beautiful powdery white snow comes falling in. Here are some pictures of us enjoying sunny beautiful no glum days.

We had a fun Halloween!

- carved some pumpkins
- created some porch decor
- trick or treating
- spook alley in old farm shed ooooooh... spooky..
- and finally dinner and shane's special halloween brew you can have fun with it for hours.
(dry ice and dish soap).

Boo! Canyon was a vampire quite possibly inspired by Edward.
When he got home from trick o treating he was very good at organizing
all of his candy in a long line.. 10 butterfingers, 4 red suckers, 6 nerds ect.
I used to do that when I was little..so it was cute to see his strategies to see how
much candy he really did have, and it was a lot!! I think he might need some help
to finish it off.

Ellie was Phocohantus she was quick to correct anyone
her called her an Indian by informing them that she was
phocohantus and phocohantus is a princess. I dont think
she wanted to ruin her reputation around the neighborhood
by not being a princess.

Lucy had her first Halloween and her first Cold at the
same time..poor lucy.. I guess she was a little
coughing mouse.

Giddy Up

We went to the hee haw farms this weekend the
highlights....

The line to ride the ponies was to long. Shane convinced Ellie that riding Canyon down the slide would be just as much fun. (I think it was)

The biggest pig ever eating a pumpkin. Pretty gross super entertaining.

The country bumpkin tin train ride.. the kids were so happy look at there faces you would think that it was the best day of their lives. Even when they got the ghetto carts with no animal heads. (sorry about the random boy)

Lucy had fun too, well at least I think she did.

make over

I thought I needed a blog make over... so
well I changed it all up.

cabin fever

We went to the cabin this weekend. It's so nice
to go down there and get away from it all and relax.
We went on nature walks, did some four wheeling, watched movies
took long naps, and ate a ton of good food. The kids found a
chimpmunk tail that Tex the dog bit off the poor little fella when
chasing it. They thought that it was a super cool treasure to find.
I think only because they diddn't witness the tragedy (last picture on the end).
We got to wake up Sunday morning to a snowy day.. good for snowballs
and apple juice slushes!

little toes with a giant laugh

Lucy had her first giant laugh last night! Sure
she has had mini half almost laughs in the past, but
this one was an out right giggle. Her laugh made all
of us laugh so hard..it filled the house with delightfulness.
I forgot how amazing that first laugh is... especially such a giant
laugh out of such a little girl..! It was a fun night.

lucy's blessing day

We had Lucy's blessing on Sunday. She was an older blessing
baby I know at 4 months to the day...but we were waiting trying
to get the yard done for the after party. We got it done whew!! that
was a lot of work..
(okay mostly for Shane..but I did do this lovely path)

So after Lucy's blessing, I am pretty sure there is something
to blessing a baby while they are still a newborn. They are
not as aware of things and they sleep. Lucy was a happy
little girl all day until the blessing began of course.
I don't know if it was being surrounded by all those manly faces,
or maybe she doesn't like being the center of attention.. but
whatever it was.. she did not like it. She did not like it so much that
she went into a sad crying spell. Poor Shane could hardly get any
words out. To hard to concentrate with crying penetrating his ears
I suppose. So the blessing ended quickly...quite possibly the quickest
on record. But I like to think that the Heavens know all that we wanted
to say and she is is blessed with all of those things too.

Once her blessing was over she was on
her best behavior for the rest of the day.
We love you little Lucy! Happy blessing day.

favorite fall lunches

One of my favorite things to do lately is meet Shane
in provo canyon for some yummy lunches, when the weather is nice.
It is so pretty right now that lunch is usually followed by a quick
photo shoot. Ellie is usually the star of the photo shoot when she
comes. Lucy is too sleepy and Shane and I aren't as cute.

Sundance

Shane and I went to Sundance this weekend to celebrate our 10 year
anniversary!! I cant believe it has been that long. In some ways it seems
like we met just yesterday and other times like I have known him forever.
I think mostly it feels super crazy to be old enough to be married that long.
But here I am after after 10 years of marriage and 3 kids later... I cant imagine
it any other way... or any better...Thanks to Shane for being such an incredible
person to share the last 10 years of my life with.. with many more to come!!

Lucy blessed us with her presence for the celebration... to young to
leave behind. She was great and it was fun to have some alone
time with her. She loved the leaves!!

Fall Soccer

Soccer is in full swing Canyon and Ellie are both playing this year.

Because this is Ellie's first year lets do a recap.
Ellie is the only girl on the team she was a little or
a lot disappointed. No girls no pick ball or pink shoes.
How would this end??

• Game 1 ... new to the game, the excitement kicks into full gear there is no stopping her she scores her first goal....... yah Ellie....
• Game 2... A boy pushes Ellie down and steals the ball.. she was sad.. She said "I hate it when boys beat me."
  
• Game 3... she gets pushed down again ... but she gets up goes after that boy and gets the ball back she yells "Im brave mom, and I beat boys she gives us the thumbs up"
• Game 4... lots of ballerina spins.. twirling hair... more thumbs up.... and a few kicks in between maybe the excitement of soccer is wearing off...

The rest of the season it yet to be determined... but if she has
learned to get up after boys push her down, I say the
season has been a success.

She spends a lot of time on the field giving the thumbs up nearly every time she kicks the ball.. while she poses of course.. It's funny and yet so endearing.

Love those beautiful mountain skies. I must say we have great views at our soccer games!

Canyon has become a lot more determined this year. It is fun to watch him zoom around the soccer field guarding the goal and taking it up the field.

Autumn Pasts

seasons changing

It seems like I am always exciting for the changing season.
I am always excited for the next season ready for warm
sunshine on my face after and long winter and right now ready
for Autumn after a burning hot summer.
The nights are getting brisk up here in the valley and I have
been loving it. Jackets in the evenings, riding in the car
with the windows down and the heat on. I can smell
Fall in the air and I am welcoming it with open arms.
I saw a bare ski run going up to Park city the other day It
gave me butterflies in my stomach.... Fall is about the time
that I start getting super excited for the winter snowboarding season
and not having a spare passenger on board... (baby in the belly) this
year makes it more fun to look forward to.
I am sure it is the color of the dress but this picture of Lucy
reminds me of the beautiful autumn season.. can't wait
to see all the colored leaves!!

Summer 2007

We tried to get Ellie to put a thorn on her nose
but she rejected that idea in a big way.
She wanted to look pretty for her pictures.

swinging in the summer

Summer is so carefree.. lemonade, friends, and
spending hours a day on a swing floating through
the air looking up at a big tree, pretending you are a
flying fairy. With the sun shining on your face and feeling
the breeze in your hair with nothing else to think about
except going higher of course.

I wish summer days were like this for everyone..even me!!
I loved these pictures of Ellie and her friend Jada. If not me
I am glad Ellie gets to experience it and love it. And does
she ever love it. She spent so much time on that swing
this summer she has two sores one on each leg from the rope
swing to prove it. I guess that is what happens when you insist
on wearing skirts everyday to go swing.

Lucy's smile

Why does the first smile mean so much?
It's like your love doubles at that very moment.
And then you spend the rest of your day trying to
find that smile again.

It was beautiful and amazing.

A first

After many visits to Provo Falls Canyon decided to make this his year.
There is a first for everything and this was Canyon's first time to
go all the way under the falls!! (with grandmas help)
He seemed so grown up to me. I could see he felt brave
and all grown up with the happy smile he carried on his
handsome face for the rest of the day.
